Privacy policy for "Skin Tools for TankTrouble (unofficial)", version 1.1
Effective date: 31 October 2026 Who we are: Skin Tools for TankTrouble is an unofficial, fan-made browser add-on published by Dowells Mike. It is not made, endorsed or supported by TankTrouble or its developers. Contact: aitanktrouble@gmail.com
1. The short version
- Skin Tools changes how your own tanks look in TankTrouble, on your screen.
- It has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and it sells nothing.
- It never sends your TankTrouble name or account, your games, your chats, your cookies or your passwords anywhere.
- The skin library is optional and off until you say yes. When it is on, your browser downloads skin files from our library. Like any website, the library's server can see your IP address, your browser type and language, and which skin files are downloaded.
2. What stays on your computer
These are kept in your browser and never sent to us:
| What | Where | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Skins you add yourself (pictures, name, settings) | the TankTrouble site's storage in your browser (IndexedDB tanktrouble-skin-tools-v1) | so your skins are there next time |
| Your choices: which skin each tank wears, colours, colour modes, players you gave a skin, the panel's position | the site's storage (localStorage ttSkinTools.v1) | so your choices are kept |
| Whether the library is on, the last checked library list, up to 24 downloaded library skins and 64 pictures, and which library skins you are wearing | the add-on's own storage, which the web page cannot read | so a skin is downloaded only once and works offline |
Because the first two are the website's own storage, the TankTrouble page could technically read them. They contain only the choices listed above.
3. What leaves your computer, and only if you turn the library on
When you click Browse skins (or turn the library on later), the add-on downloads, from the Skin Tools library at https://skin-tools-catalogue.aitanktrouble.workers.dev/:
- a list of skins and its signature;
- a small picture of each skin;
- each skin you choose to wear, once.
These are ordinary downloads. They carry no cookies, no referrer, no account and no identifier of yours. Like every request to any website, the library's server receives:
- your IP address and the time;
- your browser's user agent (browser and operating system) and its preferred language;
- the name of each file requested, which shows which skins were downloaded;
- over a secure connection, the browser's basic brand, platform and mobile/not-mobile hints.
The add-on does not send anything else, and nothing about your games, chats or the players you play with.
4. What we do with it
- The library and this website are hosted by Cloudflare. To deliver the files, keep its network secure and count usage, the provider processes the technical information in each request listed above, and it may keep some of it for a period it sets. How it does this is described in its own privacy policy: https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/.
- We have not turned on any request logging of our own: the provider's Workers Logs are switched off for both the library and this website, and we do not record individual requests. In the provider's dashboard we can see aggregate figures, such as the number of requests.
- We do not use this information to identify you, build profiles, show ads or analyse behaviour. We do not sell or share it, except as required by law.
5. Children
TankTrouble has many young players, and Skin Tools is built for them:
- no accounts;
- no chat;
- no uploads;
- no ads;
- nothing shared with other players;
- the library asks first.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children beyond the technical request data in section 3, which is used only to deliver the files. A parent can ask us about any of this at aitanktrouble@gmail.com.
6. Your choices
- Say "Not now" to the library question. Nothing is downloaded, and your own skins still work.
- Turn the library off at any time in the Library tab.
- Delete a skin you added: My skins > Custom skins > Remove.
- Remove everything:
- Uninstalling the add-on deletes its own storage (the library list and downloaded skins).
- To also delete your own skins and choices, clear the browsing data of tanktrouble.com in your browser's settings.
7. Limited Use statement
The use of information received from the browser by Skin Tools adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements:
- It is used only to provide the add-on's single purpose: showing the skins you choose on your own tanks.
- It is not transferred to anyone except as necessary to deliver the library's files (our hosting provider), to comply with the law, or to protect against abuse.
- It is not used for advertising.
- It is not read by people, except where needed for security or to comply with the law.
8. Changes
If what Skin Tools sends ever changes, we will update this policy and the add-on will ask you again before anything new is sent.
